FAQS
Your dog groomer should be able to discuss all dog grooming related questions with you. They may also be able to offer information on dog walkers, dog boarders, local walks and places your dog is allowed to go.
Regular brushing of your dogs coat will help reduce moulting and matting and aid healthy skin and hair growth. It should be done at least once a week, but realistically more often, especially if your dog has a long or curly coat. I’m happy to advise on brushing techniques and key areas to concentrate on brushing.
Puppy pampers are available between 3 - 6 months and after they’ve had their final vaccinations. It’s important they get used to the sights and sounds of the grooming environment early on. These sessions usually last about an hour and include a bath, brush, dry, ears cleaned, nails and pad hair clipped.
I hold the City & Guilds Level 2 qualification and I’m also Pet First Aid trained. I attend seminars and meetings regularly to further my skill set, and I’m dedicated to continually improve and learn new methods/styles.
The Groomery is fully insured. Certificate is available on request.
If your dogs’ coat is badly matted/knotty, it is important to book them in to see a dog groomer straight away. A matted coat can be incredibly uncomfortable for your dog and can cause a variety of problems. If at the appointment your dog is found to have a badly matted coat, it will be discussed and agreed upon to clip the coat right back to allow for proper growth and allow the skin to breathe.
This will be discussed at your first appointment but generally most long haired breeds tend to need a haircut every 6 - 8 weeks. Some high maintenance curly coat breeds and cross breeds such as Cockerpoo and Labradoodle may need to pay a visit every 4 - 6 weeks to maintain their coat.
The final groom price will depend on the breed, size, removal of any matting/stubborn knots, overdue and unkempt coats and the temperament of your dog.
I am a small business and have a limited number of appointments per day. If for any reason an appointment is missed a £15 fee will be added to the next groom appointment.
